In case you are unable to find a job, cook a dish properly, or keep oversleeping, you may find yourself feeling frustrated and annoyed.

External frustration

External causes of frustration involve conditions outside of your control, such as traffic on way to work, when a meeting runs on for too long or your favourite team just can’t win an IPL game. You may be feeling frustrated at small or big triggers, because it is an emotional response to something you care about.

Workplace stress, pregnancy stress, exam stress, negative thoughts and overthinking, all of these can cause frustration for working millennials and students alike! You might even gain some perspective when you talk to someone!

Distract yourself if feeling frustrated

Watch a funny YouTube video, call a friend or eat some tasty food. Distracting yourself from whatever is making you feel frustrated can help. Moreover, it will give your mind a break from all the negative thoughts that come with frustration. It’s a simple way on how to deal with frustration that can bring you quick relief.

Punch your frustration away

Visualise yourself in front of a punching bag that you may have seen in a movie or a gym. Then, think of who or what is making you feel this frustration and channel all the energy onto your fists. Slowly clench them and imagine you are punching the bag in front of you. If you have space around you, slowly move your fists in a punching manner and release all your anger out onto the bag. Do this for about 30 seconds to a minute and then slowly take a deep breath and let go of what is bothering you. Feeling frustrated after this? No chance.
